Privacy Policy
Effective Date: January 10, 2026
Last Updated: October 5, 2026
1. Introduction
Welcome to WoWSkill. This Privacy Policy explains what data the application processes (Microsoft Store, Apple App Store, Google Play Store and web) and why.
WoWSkill works without an account: we never ask for your name, email address, phone number or credentials. A few features, however, need a small amount of technical data tied to your device: the list of followed characters and push notifications. They are described below.
Data controller: Vittorio Barile (contact details in section 13).
2. Public game data
Character, guild and game information comes from public third-party APIs:
- Blizzard Entertainment API - official World of Warcraft data
- Warcraft Logs API - public raid and dungeon performance logs
- Raider.IO API - public Mythic+ scores and rankings
Our server keeps a copy of this public data to show it faster and to track the progress of followed characters. This is public game data, not data about you.
3. Followed characters (favorites)
When you follow a character, the app generates a random device identifier (deviceId) the first time it runs. It is not linked to your identity or to any other identifier of your phone or browser.
On the server we store:
- the
deviceId; - the characters you follow (public game data);
- when you started following them and the last time the app asked for the list.
Retention: a character followed by a device that has not opened the list for 45 days is removed automatically.
4. Push notifications
Notifications are optional and are sent only if you turn them on in the app and grant the operating system or browser permission. The app works without them.
When you turn them on, the server stores:
- the
deviceId; - the push token (or push channel) the system assigns to the app on your device;
- the platform (Android, iOS, web) and the app version;
- the language used to write the notifications;
- your time zone as an offset from UTC (for example +120 minutes), used for quiet hours (11 PM - 8 AM) and the daily limit;
- your preferences (main switch, metrics, per-character bell);
- technical timestamps: registration, last successful delivery, last error, number of notifications sent that day.
As a precaution we treat the push token as personal data, because it is an online identifier produced by the device.
The server also keeps:
- the progress events of followed characters (for example "Mythic+ score from 2985 to 3010"), shown in "Recent activity";
- the queue of notifications to send (title, text, delivery outcome).
Purpose: sending you the notifications you asked for about the characters you follow, and showing recent activity.
Legal basis: your consent (opt-in in the app plus system permission). You can withdraw it at any time.
Retention:
- push registration data: until you turn notifications off and delete them; a device that no longer follows anyone and has not registered for 45 days is deleted automatically;
- progress events: 30 days;
- notification queue: 30 days.
A token that the push service reports as no longer valid (app uninstalled, token expired) is deleted at the first delivery attempt.
5. How to delete your data
- "Turn off and delete" in the Notifications sheet: the server immediately deletes the device's push registration and the system invalidates the token.
- Removing a character from your favorites deletes it from the list on the server.
- You can also write to us (section 13) with the device ID shown in the Notifications sheet (it can be copied): we will delete all data tied to that identifier.
6. Usage statistics and crash reporting
The app uses Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics (Google) for aggregated usage statistics and crash reports, which may include installation identifiers and technical information about the device. They help us understand which features are used and fix errors.
7. Processors and third-party services
To run the app we rely on these providers, which process data on our behalf:
- Google (Firebase Cloud Messaging, Analytics, Crashlytics) - notification delivery on Android, iOS and web; statistics and crashes. https://policies.google.com/privacy
- Apple (Apple Push Notification service) - notification delivery on iOS, through Firebase Cloud Messaging. https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/
- Microsoft (Windows Push Notification Services) - only for the Windows app, once notifications are available there. https://privacy.microsoft.com/
- OVH - server hosting. https://www.ovhcloud.com/en/personal-data-protection/
The game data sources have their own policies:
- Blizzard Entertainment: https://www.blizzard.com/privacy
- Warcraft Logs: https://www.warcraftlogs.com/privacy
- Raider.IO: https://raider.io/privacy
8. International transfers
Some providers (Google, Apple, Microsoft) may process data outside the European Economic Area. In those cases the transfer relies on the safeguards provided by the GDPR, such as adequacy decisions or the standard contractual clauses adopted by these providers.
9. Children's privacy
The app does not ask for personal details and does not knowingly collect data from children under 13 (or the age that applies in your country). Notifications require an explicit opt-in.
10. Security
Communication between the app and the server uses HTTPS. The credentials used to send notifications stay on the server and never reach the app.
11. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection, and you can withdraw your consent to notifications at any time (section 5). You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority; in Italy, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali (www.garanteprivacy.it).
To exercise your rights, write to us with the device ID shown in the Notifications sheet: without an account, it is the only way to find your data.
12. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy. Changes will be published here and on the store pages, with an updated "Last Updated" date.

Summary: WoWSkill shows public World of Warcraft character data without asking you for an account. If you follow characters or turn on notifications, the server keeps a random device identifier, the push token, language, platform and time zone, only to send you the alerts you asked for. You can delete everything with "Turn off and delete" or by writing to us with the device ID.
Informativa sulla Privacy
Data di Entrata in Vigore: 10 gennaio 2026
Ultimo Aggiornamento: 5 ottobre 2026
1. Introduzione
Benvenuto in WoWSkill.
- API Blizzard Entertainment - dati ufficiali di World of Warcraft
- API Warcraft Logs - log pubblici delle prestazioni in raid e dungeon
- API Raider.IO - punteggi e classifiche pubbliche Mythic+
deviceId; - i personaggi che segui (dati di gioco pubblici);
deviceId; - il token push (o canale push) che il sistema assegna all'app sul tuo dispositivo;
- la piattaforma (Android, iOS, web) e la versione dell'app;
- la lingua in cui scrivere le notifiche;
- il fuso orario come scostamento da UTC (per esempio +120 minuti), che serve per le ore di silenzio (23:00-08:00) e per il limite giornaliero;
- le tue preferenze (interruttore generale, metriche, campanella per personaggio);
- gli eventi di progresso dei personaggi seguiti (per esempio "punteggio Mythic+ da 2985 a 3010"), che alimentano la sezione "Attività recente";
Conservazione:
- dati della registrazione push: finché non disattivi e cancelli le notifiche; un dispositivo che non segue più nessuno e non si registra da 45 giorni viene cancellato in automatico;
- eventi di progresso: 30 giorni;
5. Come cancellare i tuoi dati
- Blizzard Entertainment: https://www.blizzard.com/privacy
- Warcraft Logs: https://www.warcraftlogs.com/privacy
- Raider.IO: https://raider.io/privacy
8. Trasferimenti internazionali
Alcuni fornitori (Google, Apple, Microsoft) possono trattare i dati fuori dallo Spazio Economico Europeo.
11. I tuoi diritti
